About

Orcas island fruit applesWarm Valley Orchard is located less than one mile from the Orcas Island ferry terminal. My husband Bob and I started the orchard in 1990. Our family-run farm has over 100 fruit and nut trees, a vegetable garden, and of course, the sheep. We manage the farm with a hands-on approach…picking off bugs instead of using sprays, hand-weeding the garden, and giving the animals produce and fruit that is no longer good for human consumption. Our goal is to use all the farm products as best we can.

The farm stand is located at the entrance to the studio, where you can find seasonal fruit, produce, walnuts, and meat (lamb).

The studio functions both as a retail and working space. It is full of looms, spinning wheels, and other textile tools. Yarns include both handspun and mill-spun, ranging in colors from natural to hand-dyed/hand-painted. There are yarns from our sheep, as well as other fibers such as alpaca, silk, mohair, and other natural fibers. Other items in the studio include sheepskins, rovings, knitting needles, hand-knit and handwoven textiles.
